Christian and Calista met on 11 May 2021 during a brief period between lockdowns. Calista decided to approach their first meeting with an open mind, curious to see where things might lead, especially since they both shared the same Catholic faith and had been seeking partners through the app Catholic Match. Coincidentally, 11 May is also Calista's brother’s birthday, a date she found amusing as she wondered if it might become even more memorable.

From the moment they started chatting, Christian was immediately struck by Calista’s kindness. Her warm, thoughtful nature made her stand out, and he quickly became interested in getting to know her better. As they continued to talk, they discovered a shared love for American superhero dramas, video games, board games, and card games.

Their first date was just the beginning. They soon found themselves on a second date, watching the Tom & Jerry movie together, which led to even more adventures. On their third date, Christian cooked chicken cacciatore for Calista, and they spent the evening playing games. By the fourth date, they decided to introduce Calista’s dog, Douggie, to the mix, taking him to the beach where Douggie promptly stole Christian’s beer-battered fish. Through these moments, Christian’s admiration for Calista’s kind heart only grew stronger, and their connection deepened with every shared experience.
